14/10/2026: VSC training: Getting Scientific Software Installed#

On Wednesday, 14 October 2026, VSC is organizing a training session in which we will present various well-established tools and techniques for getting scientific software installed. After this session, researchers will be able to select the right tool for their use case and efficiently get started with installing the software required for their scientific workloads.

Getting the software, required to run your scientific workloads, installed on a supercomputer can be a daunting task.

There is a wide variety of tools and techniques to consider, and the best option depends on various factors, including which software you need, which system(s) you want to use, which programming language(s) the software is implemented in, etc.

This training session is based on a similar session that was held last year (see https://vscentrum.github.io/gssi-training/2025), although it will be organized slightly differently this time.

In-person attendance at the Marie-Elisabeth Belpaire building in Brussels (close to Brussels-North train station) is recommended and is available to a limited number of participants. Virtual attendance via MS Teams is also possible.

Participation is free of charge, but registration is required for practical reasons.
