VSC Lunch Session on OpenFOAM#

On October 4th 2022, VSC is organizing a lunch session on the topic of “CFD meets HPC” (OpenFOAM).

This two-hour online session is scheduled during lunch break, and includes several use cases (von Karman Institute, UGent, Diabatix) plus a Q&A with the audience. More specifically, the session theme revolves around OpenFOAM, i.e. open source software for computational fluid dynamics (CFD).

  • 12h00 – Welcome by dr. Stefan Becuwe – part of the VSC operational team

  • 12h05 – Use case by dr. Lilla Kapa-Koloszár - Research Engineer @ von Karman Institute, a non-profit international educational and scientific organisation, promoting research in the field of fluid dynamics

  • 12h35 – Academic use case by Florian Wéry - Doctoral researcher & FWO Fellowship @ the UGhent laboratory for Chemical Technology (LCT)

  • 13h05 – Industrial use case by dr. Ine Vandebeek - Head of R&D @ diabatix, a Belgian engineering software company that specializes in thermal analysis and design
