Preventive measures for second heatwave

Warning Until next Friday (14th of August) IvyBridge nodes will be offline due to the current heatwave. All other nodes are online, including GPU nodes. Since the scope of this mesure is rather limited, the waiting time of jobs in the queue should not be affected.

Warning Based on recent weather forecast, the reduced capacity has been extended to Sunday 9th of August. We will continue to monitor the weather forecast and the cooling infrastructure, and extend further if necessary.

From Friday 7th to Sunday 9th of August, Hydra will run at half capacity due to the incoming heatwave. Only Skylake nodes will be active. As a consequence, the waiting time of jobs in the queue will be higher than normal.

The recent improvements in our cooling infrastructure have proven reliable and the HPC resisted a maximum ambient temperature of 36.6 C during the last heatwave. However, this second heatwave will last for longer and we prefer to take this preventive measure to avoid major issues.
