Minor system upgrade of Hydra#
On Friday, March 21, at 06:00 CET we will carry out a minor system upgrade of the login nodes. During this upgrade, Hydra will be unavailable to users for approximately 30 minutes. All user sessions on the login nodes will be disconnected, but running jobs will not be impacted.
We will also upgrade all worker nodes using a rolling upgrade approach. This means there will be no interruption of the service, but the available compute capacity will be reduced. Depending on the load and the queue, this process can take up to five days.
This system upgrade includes a new Linux kernel with new drivers for the GPUs, network cards and storage of the cluster. Once the system upgrade is complete all available software modules or any programs you installed in the cluster will continue to work as usual (or even better).
